Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-03-02

1. What we collect

When you browse the Services, standard server logs may capture technical data such as device type, browser type, and approximate IP-based location for security and performance. When you submit a report, we collect the data you enter, which may include location information (GPS or manual coordinates), time/date, and descriptive text.

2. GPS and location data

If you use GPS features, your browser asks for permission and provides coordinates to the Services. You can deny permission and submit with manual information where available. Location data is used to place reports on maps and to support pattern analysis.

3. How we use information

We use collected information to operate the Services, moderate submissions, prevent abuse, maintain data quality, and produce research-oriented mapping and analytics.

4. Sharing

Approved reports may be displayed publicly on the Atlas. We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers required to operate the Services (for example, hosting and database providers).

5. Retention

We may retain submissions and related metadata to maintain the research dataset, unless removal is required for legal or safety reasons. We may remove or anonymize content at our discretion.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the Services. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices

You can choose not to submit reports, deny GPS permission, or avoid sharing personally identifying information in the report text.

8. Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
